license problem

I started the free trial before initiating an education stand-alone license. The trial ended before I activated the license. Before I can use the software now, when I select the "Enter a Serial Number" at the license selection window (attached) the program freezes and is non-responsive. I have tried several times now with the same problem. Is there anything I can do other than reinstall? Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Could you please try shutting down the program, removing your old licensing information, then logging back into the program with you account? We want to rewrite the licensing information on your system. Also make sure your graphics card driver is fully up to date.

Hi Matt. Thanks for your response. I have now done both. I still have the same issue. The program becomes non-responsive at the same point.

Hi @Anonymous,

 

Apologies that you are still having trouble. Could you try performing a clean uninstall and reinstalling from the virtual agent.

Hi and thank you again.

 

I have done both steps now. I am operating on Mac so I had to download Maya 2016 as the only Mac option on the virtual agent. I am assuming that I will need a new serial number though, as the one I have for 2017 together with the 2016 product key cause the attached error.

 

I did also try reinstalling 2017 from the original download I had, but the program became non-responsive again at the point of selecting the "enter a serial number" option at the Let's Get Started screen (also attached). So I'm happy to role with 2016 if we can get that to work.

I don't know any thing about serial numbers but if you google maya student download, click the first page site that comes up ( you should click some thing that says specifically Maya Free Downlod - Autodesk ) you should be on a site that has too green buttons, one that says sign in and one that says create account.IMG_0364.PNG:turtle:

 

 

 

You'll probably need to create an account considering I don't think the one from this site works for sign in. Follow all the instructed steps for sign in. After that go back to the cite if you got exited out for any reason sing in than fill in the needed information.

follow the rest of the instructed steps and presto you have student license maya. 

 

( you need a email to do this but you probably have one)
