Is Maya becoming unusable because of bugs?

Hi everyone,
I have started using Maya in 2009 at school and I have been using it ever since. I wasn't doing too much Maya recently though since I was mostly doing Unity or other realtime systems.
So... recently I got back to it. At first, I thought I was having difficulty because it has been a while but almost every issue I had was a bug that had been documented by other people on the forum years ago and that was still not fixed.
Don't get me wrong, Maya is great. I love the MASH network feature. And modeling is fun in Maya too.
It's just filled with bugs. A LOT of them.
Seriously. They are everywhere. Even small things or things that used to work don't work anymore.
Ah, and MASH and 3D type would be great to do motion graphics if you could leave some history without Maya crashing and slowing down to a point where it's impossible to work properly.
I currently experience at least 20 crashes a day. And most of them are completely different crashes. I know we are supposed to report crashes but who really has the time to report 20 crashes a day while being on production?
Maya does work on small scenes but as soon as you have some history or you start to do a real project, things becomes intertwine. Touching one thing causes ripples effects that break something else somewhere else and it's pretty hard to know where. Every tutorial out there are working on ONE thing or showing only ONE feature so yeah suuree it works but try making a real scene with animation, physics etc.. It becomes another ball game.
Am I the only one or Maya is just becoming unusable?
I'm thinking about switching to Max or Cinema 4D. Any idea what software would be more stable?
