Hi. This is a known issue and is being fixed for a future update, but there is a workaround.

When you create the guide modifier, create guides with the modifier first,

then delete the guides:

Then select the curves you want to use and shift select the guide modifier in the Interactive Groom Editor:

and Use Selected Curves as Guides and the Guides will have the correct number of cv's for the description.

Hi Michael,

This works for me if I have description1_base (NMT_base in your case) CV Count set to 10 but if I have it set to anything else it does not work but instead gives me: // Error: Wire CV count doesn't match spline CV count.

Thanks Michael and Jonas, it worked, looks like 10 CV is the magic number for now 🙂

Another thing you can try is to create guides and make them dynamic, then delete the curves from the xgmCurveTospline node and add the ones you actually want.

The issue itself has been fixed but we have to wait to get the update out...

This worked great, even can make the curves have more CVs, thank you very much!

While the dynamic trick works it still shapes my guides as if they had fewer CVs, strange!

The green curves are my original curves and they are smooth:

But maybe with some smooth brush strokes you could fix that easily, not sure, my scene just got broken, so I'm trying just using the guides and styling with the brushes to see how it goes

What you can do is get rid of that guide modifier, make a new one and set it's base cv count to match the curve count, then use the workaround to add the desired curves back to the new Guide mod. The Guide cv count and the description they are driving don't have to match. You can also use guides from one description to drive another description
