Hi @austinlbeck

Are you trying to import the image as an image plane or as an object?

Have you tried creating a new scene file and then try importing the image?

If this doesn't work, please attach the image here and I'll see if I can load it in Maya on my machine!

Let me know if anything changes!

Hi @austinlbeck

I think the issue may be the image file type. When I downloaded it from here it wouldn't open in any image viewing program because the file type was broken.

To fix this, I renamed the image "Goku_Top.png" then I was able to load it into Maya just fine.

Please let me know if this helps or if you need any more assistance!

Hi @austinlbeck

Thanks for providing the video!

It was a little bit hard to tell but it looks like you had the picture labeled as jpg right? If so then it should be working as normal.

Out of curiosity, could you try going to a specific view like the side or top view then go to View->Image Plane->Import and see if that works?

Hi!

Don't do it this way, this will not work as you want.

Images can't exist "alone" in Maya, you can only create a link to an image from inside a node.

First decide what you want to do and where you need the image, then create what you need to add the image to and then add the image.

For example:

1. Create an object

2. Add a material

3. Add a texture (create the file node and specify the image location there)

or Drag and Drop a file from OS into Hypershade (this creates a file node with the correct link).
