Image Sequences are not working in Maya 2017 Sp3

I've been trying to import image sequences into Maya, but I always get the "texture file....... doesn't exist, node file1"

I've tried every naming convention, and format. It doesn't like anything. Yes, I've tried "filename.####.jpg" still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Exactly the same issue here. I couldn't find any useful information either.

So, I actually made a dumb mistake on this. My sequence started at frame 197 or something like that, so it was showing up on my Maya timeline in a different spot than I was expecting (I was expecting to see something on frame 1, oops)

The number of ways to screw up importing an image sequence are legion.
