How to set the export size of an object?

We are working on an AR app. Whenever I export an object, its usually appears too big on the app and I don't have a specific measurement how to calculate the size.

Hello @Anonymous,

scaling the size of a model is best done within Maya before you export! I would suggest paying close attention to your grid settings, and making some test objects and exporting them to your AR app to get an idea for scale. Once you have your grid settings locked in, you can share the preferences folder with your teammates to copy those specifications!

I hope this helps!

if you are working with the unity than you should change your export settings. unity uses meter but maya uses centimeters. for fbx export there is a tab called units. go there, untick the automatic, select centimeters. after select you can safely export.

I'm not working with Unity engine. I'm working with an Augmented Reality App for android. The developer doesn't want to change the code for setting a scale size in his app. Another modeller who works in Blender have told me that he uses units option before exporting and sets its value to 0.1. I'm asking if Maya has similar alternative?

Hi!

Those settings are format / file type dependent.

Check Export options.
