How to change Grid orientation? Y axis / X axis

I have no idea how it changed, but my grid was set to the usual x/z orientation, but now it's changed to the Y axis, how do I change it back?, I googled this simple thing but oddly I found no solution 😕

As you can see, it's now set to the y axis, no idea what I pressed for this to happen

Hi!

You can set this in:

Preferences -> Settings -> World Coordinate System -> Up axis:

That was one of the first things I tried, it makes the camera controls go crazy inverted or something, and the grid still stays on the y axis

Hi!

Try in Viewport menu:

View -> Default View

What you also can try is:

a) Close Maya and reopen it.

b) Use Import instead of Open scene

That did fix the controls for the camera but the grid still stays on the y axis, baffled

But i found if I tried the world up axis change on a different file, I can see the grid flip in real time, but not on this other file... I guess its a bugged out file?

[Other files work with the world axis change, but this particular file wont, seems its a buggy file, not maya itself, I moved my meshs to a new scene file and it works now, ill call this solved.]

Hi!

I can't say what's the problem with this particular file, but because of a scene-related issue I also suggested to try Import.

yeah importing fixes the issue, but saving and then re-opening directly causes the same bug, weird

Hi!

Please provide a scene-file for further help,

everything else would just be guessing.
