Flip Mesh Alembic Motionblur to Maya Arnold

Hi, I have spent way too much time trying to get this to work. I want to get motionblur working on an exported flip mesh as alembic in maya arnold 2025. I've tried the velocity on @cd trick then in maya changing motion vector to Cd, also tried velocityVP, vel, velocity, nothing seems to work. If someone could tell me how to do it I would forever be greatful. But not just say it, would be great to show that it works since I've read every resource available, even exhausted AI for the answers. Also put a post on sidefx forum where someone mentioned bifrost may be able to read the velocity but I'm not familiar with bifrost. Would love to see a setup showing it works.

FYI I mean flip mesh from houdini, basically it's a goo splatter effect.

Motion blur in Maya Arnold 2025 with Alembic from Flip can work if you export velocity as a vector attribute. In Houdini name it v and make sure it is a point attribute. In Maya set the Motion Vector Source in Arnold to v. Also check that motion blur is turned on in render settings. Bifrost can help but not always needed.

In theory that should work but it doesn't. I tried. Other people have said the same but when I get them to show an example they realise it doesn't work. I'd be very impressed if you got it to work. Bifrost has been the only solution for me for Maya Arnold.
