All of my scenes in Maya 2018 are having problems saving , this is what it's has been telling me since .//Error file: ... The directory "image" is not valid

as a first step I would recommend to reset the Maya user preferences. Here is an instruction how it works: How to reset the Maya Preferences to Default.
