Deleting a Utility Node: are attributes recorded w/o undo?

I'm new to Maya and working with the Node Editor now. 

I'm deleting a utility node that is connected to a simple cube shape node. Then I lose access to the attributes in the AE. So am I right to assume the attributes are gone until I undo?

Or should I find them in another place without retrieving the deletes utility node?
