I couldn't add tools to the shelf.
I was tried [Ctrl]+[Shift] + click of some tools but I couldn't add tools to the shelf.
Why !?
How can I add tools to the shelf?
Please help me!

I would suggest resetting your prefs and trying again:

Reset Maya to Default

If you're on Mac then the keyboard shortcut would be CMD+SHIFT if I remember correctly. Check your hotkey editor to confirm that.

Windows > Settings/Preferences > Hotkey Editor

Im having the same problem with Maya 2017 on Mac. There is no way to add a tool from the menu on to a shelf anymore. The hotkeys to do so do not work. I am certainly not going to reset my entire Maya settings to default just to fix this. That is not a valid solution when you consider how many other things I will be losing.

@faline.custodio.da.silva This still isn't working in Maya 2018 on Mac. I have reset my prefs to default. Still doesn't work. Any chance you could help with this problem?

1. Load  tool from the main menu.

2. Click Middle Mouse button and drag to a position on a the shelf.
