Check the currently installed version without opening Maya 2017

Hi!

How can I clearly see, which version of maya is currently installed, without actually opening Maya? The Application Manager says, it's up-to-date. But which version IS that? And as some machines don't have an internet connection: What magic makes it know that? Our admin (me :)) really needs to now, if that's Update 1,2 or something else!

Is there some clearly identifying file in the installation folder? Or a registry entry?

Windows' "programs and features list" shows up with Maya 2017 and Maya 2017 Update 1. But actually I have 2017 Update 2 installed on my machine. So that's not usable, too!

You could check the registry to see if you have Update 2 installed:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Autodesk Maya 2017 Update

Or run the about -iv command with mayabatch or mayapy

That works, when I open the GUI. But I want access from the commandline or something else.

The registry info is good enough for now, maybe I'll try some batch stuff later. Thanks!
