Buying a subless Maya 2016

hi, i am wondering if i get a old version of maya 2016 before they made it sub. will it be subless forever? just checking before i get it. would be really bad if it turned it into sub on me.

First of all I'm not a Maya user and I was only over in this forum to redirect a question from the Installation and Licensing forum.  I saw your posting and I wanted to chime in..

As of Jan 2016 the sale of perpetual license of single Autodesk Product no longer exist.  Single product purchases are now solely based on a term based subscription.  In addition since Maya 2017 is out you can't purchase the 2016 version anymore.  Not sure where you are purchasing this but I will caution you that you may be just buying the software media and will not be able to activate and use it.

Even if someone gave you a serial # doesn't mean its going to activate because that information may be a term based subscription as well..   Its up to you but I wouldn't want to waste my money on something that will most likely never work.

no longer exist as in? they made every single Serial code n all no longer work?....cuz if it works. it be well wroth the amount of money it would save...

cuz what happen to all the copies of maya 2016 that ever sold? before it went sub...

There are many sites that offer Autodesk products at a cheaper prices.  Those sites are not legit.  In order for a true working product you have to purchase them through a authorized reseller, authorized store (by Autodesk), or the Autodesk on-line store.   So from these authorized sites they know when a new version comes out they are not allowed to sell a legacy version.  In addition they also know they are not allowed to offer big cost savings.  Granted resellers will work with you on the cost.

For example someone the other day was on the forum asking about a web site where they saw a (brand new) copy of AutoCAD 2016 going for 400 dollars..  This site was offering many name brand products they were not allowed to sell.

I don't really care what you do, but when it doesn't work because you can't authorize it through Autodesk, don't come back complaining about it because you were informed up front.     I'm only telling you, that you are taking a risk.  If you want to throw away your money that's your choice.
