Bullet plugin generated physics shapes not quite as desired

I've been struggeling with the plugin for a while now and I've worked out almost all oddities.
However, when exporting bullets with shape type hull, auto Compound and compound I keep getting a bunch of unnessecary chamfers. Is it possible to change the precision of the generated bullet meshes or influence how they are generated.
I'm hoping there's a property that might help me out but I've been unable to locate such a thing.
This is for kinematic colliders so the triangle mesh option is a no go
My maya version is 2015.
