Big shelf separators

Hello guys,

Yesterday my Maya crashed many times. This affected some changes to my UI.

One of them is relating to the shelves: The separators are now absurdly big. (I assume it is the size of the usual icons.)

I like the layout with the text under the icons, so I did this before. But now the shelves need unnecessary much space.

Can I reset this somewhere in the settings?

I hope you can give me any hint here, thanks in advance

I just noticed, the bug had only affected the Poly Modeling Shelf. I was able to repair it with a lot of click-work:

Insert new separators at the end of the shelf (they worked as designated) > shift back to their position step by step > delete the old separators

I don't know why there isn't any option to simply adjust the separators' space, but I am fine with them now.

I hoped this will change in new version but its 3rd version of Maya, 2024, where this problem persist. Maybe its older problem, before I didn't used Maya. I have just icons, but separators from time to time get bigger only on Poly Modeling Shelf. I manually repair them and after some time these are screwed again. Not a huge problem but it is annoying as it moves down custom buttons I placed on the shelf for convenience. Again, the only way to fix it I found is to replace big separators with new ones. It would be acceptable solution if I wasn't forced to do that couple times a month because it is at random changing that separators over and over and over again. If anybody has any solution I would love to hear it.

How do you create a new separator in the shelf? I can move existing separators in the shelf but I don't see any options for adding a new one.

You can make it with script or there is an option in Bonus Tools/create/separator on shelf.

its kinda annoying not knowing  what trigger this issue with the separator spacing. Im currently trying to fix it for my custom toolbox i have written.
