Bevel keeps changing shape

Hi

Bevel tool keeps changing the shape of my object

asdf.PNG

So above is what I am trying to make.

fff.PNG

This is the one I have made so far, and selected edges to apply bevel via CTRL + B.

fff2.PNG

This is how it turns out; the middle edge somehow gets pulled into center and forms a zig zag shape

fff4.PNG

whats even goofier is when I press Z to go back and cancel Bevel, the shape still stays zig zag

Why is this happening and how can I fix this??

Thank you in advance.

Sometimes the tools start to misbehave if there's construction history present. Deleting it usually helps.

I just made similar shape (CreatePolygon> MultiSplit> Extrude> Bevel) and tested, worked fine. My wild guess is, you could have made your profile from the polyCube with 16 y-divisions.

Thank you again and I do appreciate your help :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

but frustratingly even after deleting history its having the same issue

Indeed it was polycube w/ 16 subdiv. I started over to remake it and this time it worked out fine.

Oh wow almost 4 years later and I ran into the same issue with the tutorial. It warped in a different spot but redoing the leg in 16 subdivisions worked for me as well, thx!
