Arnold render different from view port (as if camera is in a different location)

hi I'm using maya 2018 and I'm trying to make a bifrost liquid simulation but when i render it (I'm using arnold) it renders in what seems like a different location and angle or as if the water is bigger.

It renders through a moving camera made to match the movement of a video of a staircase that my water is going to flow down.

it seems to render fine in the perspective camera so I've tried to experiment with camera settings but nothing works.

I've attached a couple screenshots to show the problem. you may notice a small picture hook on the left wall look at where it is compared to the water in both pictures.

thanks for any help.

Liam

Hi!

Enable "Resolution Gate / Display Resolution" to see the rendered frame in Viewport.

Hi!

Please set Evaluation Mode to "DG" instead of "Parallel".

If this doesn't help, please upload the scene-file (you can replace some scene objects with dummy objects or remove them)

Hi!

You have scaling on "camera_is_here" which also affects the camera.

Avoid having scale on your Transform nodes. If you don't really need it, all Scale values of a Transform node should be [1 1 1].
Select all Components (like Vertices or Faces) and scale them for modeling or use Freeze Transformations ("Scale") after you scaled the object with a global scale.
