After doing Planar mapping to start UV, scene lags like crazy

Hey guys,

Trying to start doing the UVs and the scene lags when Im in UV mode and edge mode
when Im trying to place cuts and also when trying to place anchor points.

Its not terribly bad lag, but it is enough that it gets annoying while working with all these little points and edges.

Any ideas on how to speed up the scene?

Hi!

Turn Smooth Mesh Preview "off".

Thanks!

Is it possible that I go to another scene of the same base mesh, wipe all the rig controls and then do the UV
and then reimport it back into this scene that has the rig controls?

Hi!

"Is it possible..."

Yes... but why should you do that?

I extend my answer:

A) Turn Smooth Mesh Preview "off".

B) Change Viewport to "Legacy Default Viewport".

There seems to be a problem with UV selection and Viewport 2.0,

changing Subdivision Method to "Maya Cutmall Clark" makes it complete unusable (in Viewport 2.0 only).

Not sure what's going on.

You may report this problem (bug?) to Autodesk.

hi @mspeer

the reason is because I did the rigging and then noticed i forgot the UV, so I was thinking to make it less so, i would go and do in a scene without the model and then reimport it back

so a no lag workflow that is forgiving to me for starting rigging first
