Xgen interactive linear wires sliding to end of the connected mesh

I am working on the groom of this character and I've had this recurring problem of the linear wires being correct when I make them and as soon as I move the mesh or import a geo cache onto the mesh the linear wires all clump together to the point on the mesh that is closest to origin. The wires never leave the mesh, they are still connected to the skin, but if I move the character up, the wires clump to the feet and if I move it to the side the wires clump to the wrist. 

I've tried multiple different ways of connecting the wires to the groom skin and the groom skin to the animated mesh, I used a wrap deform then I tried duplicating the groom skin binding the duplicate to the original with a blendshape and making the duplicate the wrap.image.png
