XGen Clumping Error

I've recently started using xgen and it was working perfectly. I took a few weeks of down time between projects, came back to work on a new one and received this error:

// Error: XGen:  No clump guides found. [clump_test1,clump_test,Clumping1] 

The path above is the result of trying several projects and updates to Maya 2017 (up to Update 4) with the hopes that maybe the updates might correct the problem. Modifiers such as Noise and Cut work on the description created, however Clumping (very important) and others like collision, etc do not.

I've tried editing the path, and I've tried reinstalling Maya 2017 at all of its default settings (where I am currently).

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Did you set up the clump maps? If no clump points and maps are generated, the clump modifier can't generate clump guides...
