so i tried using the Nhair dynamics to make the curve dynamic but the polygons faces are all messed up, also i tried with nCloth but i could get that soft toothpaste effect, is any other way to create a soft tube perhaps with softbody dynamics. Can anyone help with it?

Hi Molly,

Are you looking for toothpaste AND a tube full of paste?  I will assume so.

Check this out for the toothpaste:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-dynamics/emit-softbody-object-growing-from-nothing-into-an-objec...

And the for the tube of paste:

If you are statically animating it, create a "full" tube.

Turn it into a nCloth object

Simulate it to deflate it onto the ground.

Create a copy.

Then use blend shapes to go from full to deflated....

Or create a softBody object with a newton field that sucks the particles towards it with a distance... run the newton force from the tail to the middle of the tube to move the particles towards it (the newton force is inside the tube) to make it look like it is loosing volume.

If you are dynamically doing this then only use the nCloth method - maybe.

Hi!

Particles, Fluids, Bifrost, every of these tools should be able to create what you want.
