Scene scale when making dynamics?!

Hi there
Im working on a scene and everything is modelled in real world scale so 1unit is 1cm but now when I try to make some dynamics Im getting some bad result or for example with bifrost, is telling me that you are creating a large container, it will take time to simulate and do you want to proceed, and when I start reading somethinf about that I saw that almost all dynamics in maya recognisez 1cm as 1m and now Im stucked.
Do anybody know how hollywood studios work with scene scale size or had experience with these kind of things, it would help me so much?

Hi!

You only have 2 options.

A) Use default units in Maya as meter, although named "cm".

B) Adapt all simulation parameters to your scene-scale (a lot more work, but possible).

Yes but on a big projec everything is connected and for example if you scale down everything so that 1cm is 1m then characters who have skin will change look and I have to tweak or the lights and some object that are very small when working with cm if you scale down everything then they became even smaller like cells, everything is connected to each other and I dont know how to organise these things ?

Hi!

These things have to be cleared up before starting the production and is done by people with a lot experience in this business. But still then often something has to be adapted to something other, this can be scaling, timing, shaders, ...

You have to gain experience and this needs time. It's learning by doing.

If you want to start a project make sure to test everything you need, before creating your first real model or scene.

Every mistake you make at start will need a lot more time to correct later.

Build models and scenes in a way, that they can easily be scaled (and maybe transferred by import/export) later.
