nparticles not visible in Outliner

Dear All, Hope all is good.

I am using Maya 2016 and I created nParticle. After giving the name and hit create I cannot see it in outliner hence I cannot work further on it. Any suggestions what might be the reason?

Plus is there anything named only Particles in maya? as I am watching a tutorial and the instructor is using Particles instead of nParticles (Maya 2015) and mentioned any of them can be used but wondering if there is Particles also available? which I don't see in my Maya.

nParticles are new (ish).  the PARTICLES are the old particles.  They left them in there for some reason.  Use nParticles when possible.

Not sure why you would not see it in the outliner.  Maybe you have a filter on the outliner?
