nParticle emitter on the timeline?

Hi,
I'm trying to make an nparticle emitter begin emitting in an animation at frame 130. Whatever I try to do, it begins emitting at frame 0.

Any advice on how to get it to start at frame 130 would be very appreciated... 🙂

What have you tried so far? I don't want to suggest something you've already done.

Hi basically I open my scene, which involves some characters landing on some water, which is made from oceanshader. The characters land at frame 130. I'm just trying to create a splash effect using nparticles for when they land. then I go to create nparticles>create emitter and I go to cycle emission which I put at frame and cycle emission at 130. I press create. I've also tried to key the particle emission like other animation, by clicking on the timeslider and pressing S. I'm very new to Maya, any advice in the right direction to create this effect would be awesome.....

I think you're on the right track by keying the emission rate. However, I don't think hitting "s" will do it. You have to right click in the attribute's numeric input and choose "set key." If you have auto key turned on (the small key icon at the lower right of the interface), then any change you make subsequently, it will set a new keyframe. If you don't have auto key turned on, then you'll have to manually set the key as before each time. You can verify the change by looking at the emitter attribute in the graph editor.
