Maya 2016 XGen Fur

hi, 

    how can I get the feel like ( hair passes Attribute under General Properties, of Joe Alter  Shave and haircut in Maya ), I want the same feel in Maya-2016 XGen. to get the soft cotton fell for fur.please help me.

Not being familiar with Shave and a Haircut, I'm not sure what it is you're asking about. Can you show an example?

This seems to be more a problem of shader setting and lighting.
