I've currently got a plane 100x100m being deformed by Maya's BOSS system using the spectral wave. This plane also has a ship moving through it.
I now need to create a much larger ocean surface that I can composite the smaller 100msq into in post.
How can I create a larger plane but retain the same spectral wave on it and having the same wave origin/pattern to enable a fairly easy comp?
The ship will not need to be on the larger plane given I'll composite the smaller plane interaction in later.
I'm trying to avoid the usual tiling pattern you get when copying a small displacement map over a large plane.
