Bifrost particles fail to fit emitter geo - Maya 2015

I am following this tutorial. -> https://youtu.be/fBO_IiZXN8A

I am doing a test in a scene with a simple whale animation. When I select the Emitter geo and press "Create Liquid", no particles will occur and the bounding box for what looks like the particles fails to fit the size of my emitter Geo. Any reason why this would occur?

Due to project constraints, I am restricted to Maya 2015 and cannot upgrade to Maya 2016. Are there any fixes for this? Thank you in advance!

The fix is that the Viewport 2.0 sometimes doesn't show accurate Bifrost particles. Switching to the legacy viewport showed the actual working of the particles.

Yes you are so correct!! Bifrost in 2015 was a nightmare world, I was doing some tests for my client due to the fact that we were (no longer!) restricted to 2015 because of the render farm. I am v excited to play with Bifrost in 2016 and even 2017!

hey Laura,

you shouldnt have to switch to legacy viewport in 2015 to see your bifParticles.

Doing a quick sanity check on my side I am not able to see bifParticles at ALL in the legacy viewport. Only VP2.

Did you mean to say that you switched from legacy to viewport 2 to get the particles to show up?

what OS and graphics card are you using?

Are you up and running none the less?
