biforst particle ID for export

Hi,

I am converting .bif files to .prt, and using my own software to visualize particles and their velocities. However, I can't keep track of the same particle, from one frame to the next. The first particle in the data set isn't necessarily the first particle in the data set for the next frame. Is there a way to include a particle identifier when exporting to .bif, so I can keep track of a single particle, through out the simulation?

Or another work flow for doing this?

Hi @michael_koehle

I don't believe there is a way to do this natively with Maya and I haven't really seen users try and do this workflow before.

That said, I've seen occasional posts with users asking for IDs for particle effects across Maya so I highly recommend posting this on the Maya Idea Board!

This is a great place for the community to share ideas or feature they want to see in the future of Maya and this board is regularly checked by the dev team!
