Applying textures to MASH objects

Is there a way to apply textures across an entire MASH object?

For example have a sphere and apply an earth texture to it. Then create a cube and Distribute/Mesh/Voxel the cubes using the sphere as the input mesh. You will end up with a "pixelized" version of a cube, which is the intended result.

But when you apply a texture to it, it applies the entire texture to each cube giving you hundreds of little square earths instead of one large texture across everything.  It seems like it needs some type of projection or a method of recognizing the color of another objects UV map in the same space.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks. -Derryl
