Active rigid bodies refuse to work with Maya's dynamic fields -- a solution

I've been trying to figure out for almost the past 2 hours why my active rigid bodies refuse to work with Maya's dynamics fields. This is of course after I check the "Use Maya Fields" box in the bullet solver.

 

What fixed my problem was to cycle the active rigid body's "Collider Shape Type" from "box" to "sphere", then back to "box" as necessary. For whatever reason, this fixes the bug.

 

Would be great if we could get this problem addressed in a future release.

I'm getting other weird anomalies as well. Changing the field attributes, like "Magnitude" for example, doesn't update how the rigid bodies behave unless I bump them in some way, such as scale.
