nHair ropes stretching infinitely. How to fix?

Hi everyone, just wondering if somebody can help.
I’m having a problem with an nHair simulation in Maya.
I’m trying to simulate an object hanging on three ropes attached to an anchor point.
Here’s my setup:
Created 3 curves and converted them to dynamic curves using the nHair menu.
Used Surface to Point Constraint to attach the top CVs of the curves to the anchor geometry.
Used the same type of constraint to attach the bottom CVs of each curve to the object.
Made the object an Active Rigid Body and added Gravity from the Fields/Solvers menu.
The simulation behaves as expected except for one issue:
The ropes stretch infinitely, no matter what values I set for Stretch Resistance and Compress Resistance. It looks like these attributes have no effect at all.
Also, enabling “No Stretch” doesn’t help — the object just falls off the curves, even though the constraints are still in place.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a reliable workaround?
Thanks in advance!
