Hi everyone!

I am looking for some tips or resources I could look into further in order to achieve this goal. I am creating a 3D diorama in Maya depicting an ocean scene. I am trying to create the base of my diorama using oceanshader and the Boss editor and have the top plane of the base animated with waves but I am a total newbie to Maya. I included a picture below to show the end result I am looking for. One of my main issues right now in the early stages of creating this is that I want the entire base to be the ocean but only have the top plane of the base move with waves and be confined to the edges of the base, and I haven't been able to achieve that. If anyone could be so kind as to help me out or point in the direction of certain tools I can use to help me I would appreciate it thank you. 🙂 This is also my first time posting to the forums so I apologize if this post is not in the correct place.

It's easy to do static but difficult if animated , you might have to look into Bifrost or in Houdini  .
