Wrist control not moving with wrist on one side only

Wrist control not moving with wrist on one side only

Hey I'm new to rigging and am setting up a basic ik/fk human rig.

I encountered a problem when mirroring the controls from left side to right and redoing the constraints on the right side. Below is a gif of what my problem is. On the original side i started with (right side of the gif), you can see the wrist moves with the red ik wrist control (which I'm pretty sure is correct for what I want). On the other side, the control moves away from the wrist. I checked my hierarchy and I feel like I did everything the same for each side. What's going on here? How can I get the other control to stay locked to the wrist so both arms move the same?

Also, I realize I made a mistake with not placing the character on top of the grid... Is this really a problem atm or can I simply move the character with the rig on the grid later on?

Thank you for any help with this 🙂

Hi!

How are you constraining the left side?

What happens if you move only the left side?

Hi! Same thing, wrist control moves away from the wrist instead of being in the same place, unless you meant the left side of the skeleton and not the pic, in which case, yeah same behavior as well.

I should add that what you are seeing is the base skeleton being affected by the ik controls (so there's an ik and fk skeleton parented to the base that are hidden and in their own groups).

Here's a pic of the outliner:

Yes, I meant the left side of the picture 😉

In that case, might it be that your FK controller is also active, making it 50% influence for IK and FK, resulting in the hand going only to half-way?

Ah yes, for some reason I connected the visibility attribute in the note editor, but forgot to connect the actual weights. Knew it was something silly like that. Thank you very much!
