wireframe on shaded mode went from black to light blue once I went into spline

Good day all,

So,  I started animating and chose wireframe on shaded which showed me black which I prefer in stepped mode.  Once, I converted to spline while animating and keyed it some more, the wireframe on shaded mode now shows the wireframe in a light blue instead of black?

I tried customizing the wireframe color and it did not work?  

Any ideas? Please advise,

You can change wireframe color as your wish.

Select the object(s) and select Display > Wireframe Color.

In the Wireframe Color window, choose Index from the drop-down list to select a preset color from the palette or RGB to assign full RGB colors to the object's wireframe.
