Wireframe on shaded changing color when I move controls after updating maya 2020

Hi,

I've recently updated my Maya 2020 (I was 1 or 2 sub versions behind).  While I rig, I usually have the geometry in wireframe on shaded mode, and I noticed the color of the wireframe on some geometry was changing kind of intermittently.  I have never noticed this before, so I'm wondering if it was something that was added?

If I select a control and then move it, the geometry goes from the default (indigo) to a lighter blue.  If I undo the move, it goes back to default color.  If it's the lighter color and I select the geometry and then de-select it, it goes back to default color.  If I plug in values on the control, it does not change the color - only if I move/rotate a control.  It is also inconsistent - sometimes it does it and other times it doesn't - I can select and move several controls with no effect, then I select another which causes the problem, and other controls that weren't doing it before then start to do it...

Here's a quick little video to show it: https://youtu.be/ObfCLNmph64

Since I can't determine an exact predictable pattern, I'm wondering if anyone knows what this might be caused by, and maybe how I could turn it off (because it's very distracting)?  Thanks!

So, either no one has seen this happen for them, or no one knows what's causing it...  Is it something new in 2020?
