Visual bug: joints rotate on random frames, but temporarily fix themselves while scrubbing.

I have what seems to be a visual glitch messing with my animations and renders. I am working with a snake rig made through Advanced Skeleton. When I play through the animation, or scrub the timeline quickly, the rig will deform the heads at random. This is temporarily fixed if I scrub the timeline repeatedly or make/undo a change on the rig. There is no pattern for when the visual glitch occurs (other than the fact that I have keyed animation).

Has anyone seen this and is there a fix? I appreciate any help!Example image of how the joints twist the meshExample image of how the joints twist the mesh

Behavior like you described can be caused by cycles.  Did you get any warnings about cycles?  If not, then maybe change your animation evaluation mode in your preferences.  If it's in DG, try Parallel.  And vice versa.
