Hey all!
I realize my issue largely centers around the PhysX plugin for Maya but I've tried asking over at the Nvidia forums and the ones who were kind enough to reply to me are inexperienced with Maya so could not help me fully. I figured I'd try to see if anyone could help me out here.
Recently I created APEX clothing for a character I was working on in Maya. As far as I know, I have been working with the PhysX plugin that came with Maya 2015 (what version it is I know not). However, when I exported my APEX clothing it always exports as a .pxproj file instead of a .apb or .apx. When I go into my Unreal Engine 4 and try to import the APEX clothing, it refuses to read anything that isn't .apb or .apx.
Although not verified, I have considered that it might be because my PhysX plugin is outdated. However, I don't know how to update my plugin. Over on the Nvidia forums, someone told me where to find the latest version. I downloaded and extracted the files onto my desktop but now I don't know what to do with those files. I tracked the location of my PhysX plugin to C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX For Autodesk Maya so I've tried extracting the files onto the PhysX for Autodesk Maya folder, but that didn't fix my problem with exporting APEX clothing.
I'm at a loss here, if anyone knows why i can't seem to export in .apb/.apx and/or if anyone can teach me how to update my PhysX plugin I'd be much obliged.
Thank you!
