Rotating root control causes skeleton to distort

Hey, still getting used to rigging and I feel like this is probably a simple solution but I just can't find out why when I rotate the root control it moves some parts of the skeleton in a weird way (this happens both skinned and unskinned). Any of you know how I could fix this, please? distortion with geodistortion with geo

It looks like the only joints that are messed up are the ones with ikHandles driving them. You just need to set up poleVector controls and have those controls move along with your root control.
