Thanks in advance for any answers. I've searched the internet but still struggling with a solution. I'm a teacher but no expert in Maya. Some of my students however have been following tutorials online and have ran into this problem which I can't help them with. I'm having difficulty painting skin weights in Maya 2017 and 18. I can paint weights but if I delete history prior to painting weights I get a red cross and I can no longer paint the weights. I know the obvious answer should just be don't delete by history but this is my easiest way of replicating the issue. This issue has occurred under different circumstances also.
