I can get the recordAttr to work fine in 2018 but not in 2019. Anyone else?

Hello @Anonymous,

Would you be able to provide a sample use that is not working in 2019? I did a quick test and I am getting the same results as in 2018. I'm happy to assist further and look forward to hearing from you!

I'm running Maya2019.

Viewport2.0.

Play every frame in 24 fps

I run this in Mel:

recordAttr -at "translate";
play - rec;

In 2019 it starts recording but I can't stop it and it only records the first frame. With the same settings in 2018.4 I can stop it fine and it records on multiple keys.

Hello @Anonymous,

This has actually already been grabbed by the development team, so they are presently looking at a resolution. That being said, I do not know which iteration of Maya 2019 will see this issue resolved. It may also be possible that it is saved for resolution in Maya 2020, though I think this is less likely. We'll be able to better approximate resolution as time passes, so I encourage you to check in at a later date as well. 🙂

For now though, I'd encourage you to use Maya 2018 when utilizing the recordAttr function.

now trying to use recordAttr just crashes Maya 2020 entirely. This is so depressing, all the money that goes into Maya and the software is actually regressing.

Why is this marked as "Solved"??

In case anyone needs this for recording external data streams coming in using commandPort, one easy solution is to send a setKeyframe after each setAttr from the external source. Then just hit play and it will record.

Sorry Emil but could you elaborate on that solution?!
