Random Red Vertices in my Model that Appear To Be Locked

Hey all - I'm in the process of weighting my joints and have ran into a problem that I can't seem to find a solution for..

Certain vertices on my character model have turned red, and do not save any changes when I apply influence to them (via paining skin weights). All other vertices are fine and behave as expected.. See the image below for reference. Note that the vertices rendered in red are unselected at the time of this screen cap.

I feel I most likely hit a hotkey at some point without noticing it.. Honestly, I thought this would be an easy fix, but I can't find a resolve through tinkering/google search (or at least not in terms that I fully understand, as I'm newer to the program).

Please help!

Hi!

Looks like Display UVs enabled (check at Shape node:Mesh  Component Display -> Display UVs)

Sorry, I don't think I follow. Where exactly is this?

I got no results when typing "Display UVs" into the help search either.

Thanks for explaining! Unfortunately, display UVs was not on and toggling the setting didn't seem to change anything.. Is there anything else you can think of?

Sorry for the delayed response! I've created another post regarding this that includes a video upload. See: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-animation-and-rigging/red-vertices-in-my-model-that-appear-to-be...
