Mesh not exporting in animated FBX

I removed everything from my scene and restored preferences to reset the tools.
I go into export all, chose/click back animation, and export.
Re-importing into a new maya scene there is no mesh BUT i get my curve controllers that are animates.
(I have uploaded a video of me showing this within this post)
If I delete everything else in the scene besides the mesh, only then will export all export my mesh.
I have exported animated meshes before using this method in past versions, yes now it is not working.

UPDATE: 40% sure it is because I am animating using a lattice. But I have no idea what my mesh doesnt export, nor do I understand why a deformer would not bake the animation into an FBX.
