Maya getting stuck while deleting keyframe(s) inside an animation layer.

While animating scene in maya with animation layers. Maya is getting stuck(hang) when I tried to delete a keyframe or a set of keyframes.

It would be a great help if anyone can help on this. I'm using Maya 2015 SP6 (Client requirement)

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! Have you tried Resetting your Maya Preferences folder? Here's a link to that process: Reset Maya to Default. I would also confirm that your current system meets all of the System Requirements for Maya 2015, and that your Graphics Card Drivers are up to date 🙂

Can you also tell me if this is happening just in one specific scene? If you open a brand new scene and create some keyframes, does Maya still hang? If the issue is tied to one specific scene, can you upload it here so that we can test it?

Thanks again for posting! Looking forward to getting this resolved for you as quickly as possible!

Hi @Anonymous

I hope you are doing well 🙂 I just wanted to check in and see how things are going.

Are you still experiencing crashing/lagging? Did my suggestions provide a solution?

One more thing you may want to try is changing the Evaluation Mode of your scene to DG. Here's where to find that:

Preferences_evaluationMode.jpg

Windows > Settings/Preferences > Preferences > Animation (second one on the left handed list) > Evaluation drop down menu (try DG and Parallel)

Thanks again for posting! Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with 🙂 I'd be happy to continue assisting you.

Hi Jordan,

As you suggested we first re-set the Maya preferences and checked the scene and it still froze.
Then the option you are suggesting now is not available in Maya2015. As I've mentioned that we are using Maya2015 due to client requirements.
Our machine configuration is as follows :

CPU : Core-i7 6700 (3.40GHz)
CraphicCard : NVIDIA Quadro K620
RAM : 32 GB

Thanks for your reply 🙂 Any chance you could upload your scene for me to take a look at? If you'd rather keep it private, you can send it to me directly rather than posting it.

Thanks! I look forward to getting this resolved for you.

Hi @Anonymous

Just wanted to check in once more and see how things were going 🙂 Were you able to find a workaround? Any chance you could post your scene file so I could take a look at it?

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help 🙂 I'd be happy to do so.

We managed to fix the issue by exporting all the necessary nodes from that scene to another new scene.

This somehow managed to fix that issue.
