Max Influences not the same on exported Animation

Hello,
I am currently having a problem considering the export of my character's (not human) animations. They look perfectly fine in Maya, but not after I export the animation. The character is some a fluffy bunny with a simple rig.
When binding the skin, I selected the max influences to 10 and the drop off to 2. Whenever I export the animation, the result looks the same as if I would set the max influences to 4.
Why are my settings not saved when exporting? Why are the influences not the same as they are in my Maya preview?
I did not change anything manually regarding weight maps or anything like that.
