Joint and Geo Constraining Issue

This rig I am creating has 2 rings around the bottom pole.

The pole is very bendy, so I constrained the rings to the joints in order to follow the rotation and position of the pole.

I have a master control to move and rotate the whole thing. But when I used the master control, the rings don't follow.

I thought this was because the joints didn't follow, but even when they do the rings don't move.

Hey @lms2k

Its a double transform issue due to the hierarchy setup is all... I would recommend making another joint for the rectangular shape, rather than constraining the controller directly to the geometry for sure!

Make that extra joint the main parent of the joint chain, bind the joint to the rectangle, constrain the joint and controller for the rectangle, make sure the rectangle controller is the parent of the other yellow control and it should work! Its simply a double transform issue, hierarchy is HUGE to keep a look out for! (:

You're right!

I now see how dirty it was to have some parts be controlled by joints and others by geo. All by joints is way cleaner and works way better.

Thanks so much. You're the first person to actually help me on these forums haha. Have a good day!!!
