IK to FK switch snapping issue

hello

I have been working on a animation where I have the character pick up a cup from a table. In the anim I animate and interact with the cup in IK then move the hand and pick up the cup in FK.

the problem I have is that you can clearly see the switch as the arm switchs from IK to FK.

I've tried to smooth the transition and make the transition happen over 4 or five keys or putting the arm in position first then switching in the pose when it picks up the cup. but the arm breaks especially at the wrist.

Any help would be amazing thank you

WOW!  Sorry to hear you missed the deadline.  I hope we can get this to where you can work with it.  Blame Maya selling everyone on this new matrix workflow instead of the tried and true constraints and simple hierarchies approach.  Definitely not a fan!

Thanks for the images.  I think we have a solution.  Select the "TheInterview_Rigging:upArmFk_r_ctr".  And then shift select "TheInterview_Rigging:upArm_r_jnt".  Make sure the selection is in that order. What we are doing is matching the rotation of the FK to the IK.

Under the "Modify" menu dropdown, use "Match Transformations".  And select "Match Rotations".  That should do the trick.  This will match the rotation of the FK control to the IK upper arm joint.

If for some reason the lower arm is not aligned, just repeat the same process for the lower arm.  Good luck.
