I've been researching since 11am, and I can't find a single modern 2019 fix for this problem, as the last times these questions were asked was 2016.
I began the day with the paint weights tool working, albeit slowly, as the brush was hardly applying color changes, which is not the issue. Something I did caused a change, where I could no longer view paint weights, and after restarting my pc, resetting all defaults, using guides to fix this specific issue, following multiple start to finish tutorials for rigging, I still cannot view my paint weights, which makes professional grade animation basically impossible.
Yes I've tried turning on settings in the Paint Weight tool, such as Color Ramp, Color Feedback, and Multi Color Feedback.
I've used a premade model, and also tested on a generic sphere stretched out.
Hi @Anonymous! Welcome to the community!
Is the issue related to that file or does it happen with any other scene?
Regards,
No, I've tested on existing models, and I've opened up blank New projects to try from scratch, with all settings at default.
Hi @Anonymous !
Could you please try with a clean uninstall of Maya, as described in this article: Perform a Clean Uninstall?
Regards,
Hi @Anonymous!
I just wanted to follow up and ask if you had the chance to perform a Clean Uninstall and if this helped to solve your issue.
Regards,
It seems to be working! I guess when I uninstalled my student version for the subscription version, I didn't do it quite thoroughly. I will mark this as complete if I have no problems until around Friday! Thanks for being here for me.
