How can I export a character with painted blendshape weights

Hi, I made a few blendshapes and i have painted the weight of each of them to my character. When I export my mesh in FBX, the file doesn't seem to support the weights I set for my blendshapes and instead they affect the whole character just like they did before i painted the weights. I need to export my character in order to use it in unity, and I'm really at a loss as to what I can do to make it happen.

thank you

Hi!

This seems to be not supported, so you can't do this.

Ah... okay, so my only option is starting everything over then?

thank you!

No, you can trigger each blendshape individually in maya, and duplicate the mesh for each one, then apply those back to the rig, replacing the painted ones.

You could write a little tool that automates this for you.

Then exporting should work fine.
