HELP - Paint Weight keeps returning and changing

Hello everybody, my deadline for this project is approaching so I'd appreciate any help to surpass my problem.

I am struggling with this since yesterday. I've read a lot of threads and posts, but nothing helped so far.

My problem is:

The left legs' joints are influencing my character's "belly"

Then I go and erase this unwanted influence

After that I go to the other leg and do the same:

When I go to the other leg, the joints also have the same kind of influenceWhen I go to the other leg, the joints also have the same kind of influenceI erase it tooI erase it too

When I return to the left leg, all the weight paint went back to the previous state. 😞

When I return to the first lack, the painting is back and I can't pose my character without distorting the meshWhen I return to the first lack, the painting is back and I can't pose my character without distorting the mesh

I've already tried several different approaches, binding skin with different ways. Plus, I would like to add that my UV map is fine, not overlapping. Why am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any help

check the skinCluster's attributes if it doesn't have MaintainMaxInfluences enabled. disable it, then do painting.
