FIXED: BLENDSHAPES ISSUE WITH BASIC OBJECT ANIMATION

Whenever I toggle the weights under my Blendshape tab, the object only gets fatter and thinner but does not change height. It is not changing completely into the stretched out shape of the polygon that I made. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
UPDATE: I edited my height with the vertices instead of the whole object and it worked; i think it had something to do with the "local" mode
